Notes:A fan's view from the bleachers of game 1 of the 1954 World Series in the Polo Grounds—Indians vs. Giants. That's the game that featured Willie Mays' famous catch and throw on the smash by Vic Wertz. Hano gives an old-school view of baseball strategy and fandom.

Review - A Day in the Bleachers

It starts slowly. The book is almost a third of the way through before the game starts. And then the game wasn't terribly action-packed until the eighth inning. But I enjoyed it more as I went along.
