Notes:An American living in Austria finds out about a chest with a list of Nazi sympathizers that's hidden in a lake. He recovers it but is killed for his efforts. His brother-in-law hides it. Neo-Nazis, the Russians, and the Allies are all after the chest. Bill and Lynn, who work for an American publishing firm, get involved in the search. There's a lot of subterfuge and death and plotting. In the end, the good guys get the McGuffin and Bill and Lynn fall in love.

Review - Salzburg Connection, The

Just too much of a muddle to sink my teeth into. MacInnes comes up with interesting-enough plots, but here storytelling and dialogue are very hard to follow. The point-of-view character keeps changing, and there are far too many characters.
