Review - A Terrible Glory
Well written, if a bit dry. It's strength wasn't in the account of the battle itself but in the background chapters that explained the culture of the Sioux and the causes of the conflict and also the character and history of the army personnel. Donovan obviously believes that, had Reno and Benteen been braver, they could have gone to Custer's aid and probably altered the course of the battle. Of course, nobody can know if this is actually true.
