Review - Americana

Interesting topics, but Sides just doesn't quite make them come alive. I found myself wishing that John McPhee had written the book. Sides just doesn't seem to have the same observation skills or know how to interject himself without interjecting himself. I'm not sure exactly what it was. Still, most of the essays kept my interest enough to keep me reading.
