A biography of David Crockett. Born in Tennessee where he spent most of his life hunting and trying to get out of debt. He found with Andrew Jackson in the Creek Indian War. He was elected to the state legislature, and then served three terms as a U.S. Congressman. When his political career ended, he went to Texas to speculate on land and ended up at the Alamo. He seems to have been en engaging man, well-liked by most who met him, but he failed at pretty much everything he tried except hunting.

Review - David Crockett

Well-written and interesting. It seems to be a fair-balanced treatment that succeeds, for the most part, to separate the myth from the facts. Crockett's fame began during his lifetime, fed, in part, by his own stories.
