The story line in these strips was the courtship of a flapper with the son of a millionaire. Dagwood's parents wouldn't allow their son to marry beneath him, so they did all they could to prevent a wedding. Finally, Dagwood staged a hunger strike. His parents finally said he could marry Blondie but that they would disinherit him. |
