Notes:In a world where winter is harsh and most people hibernate, Charlie Worthing signs up as a Council, one of those who stay awake and make sure all goes well for the sleeping. One of his jobs is to round up nightwalkers, people who take the hibernation drug manufactured by HiberTech, but never totally wake up. HiberTech uses the nightwalkers for simple, repetitive tasks and for organ harvesting. But Charlie discovers that they can be woken up, given the chance. He finds himself hunted by HiberTech employees, eager to keep their good thing going. But in the end Charlie finds the key to waking them up and ushers in an age of drug-free hibernation.

It was weird and it was interesting and it was a lot more complicated than my overview sounds, but since I was only vaguely aware of what was going on most of the time, that's as complicated a summary as I wish to attempt.
