Notes:Roxy Loewen is a pilot who smuggles guns and other contraband anywhere that pays, often in cahoots with her Communist boyfriend Jocco. She's given the job of tracking down a famous painting and bringing it to Berlin. But the Nazis get there first, and Roxy and Jocco are forced to steal the painting from an art exhibition attending by Hitler. They pull it off, or think they do, but they're double-crossed. Roxy almost dies when a bomb goes off in her plane, and Jocco is arrested by the Gestapo. They meet up again on the Hindenburg, but Jocco's time in the German prison has changed him — he now plans on blowing up the zeppelin. Roxy manages to stop him, but the craft blows up anyway. Roxy escapes the blaze and decides to go looking for her friend Amelia Earhart, who has disappeared on her flight around the world.

Review - Chasing the Wind

Full of ridiculously implausible situations. Roxy's character is, on one hand, far to tough to be real, and on the other, a failure at everything she attempts. None of the other characters are even fleshed-out enough to care about at all. It was just a silly book.
