Notes:As a teen, Durrell spent three years on the Greek island of Corfu with his sister, two brothers, mother and a collection of animals. There's no mention of anything the family did for income, although they would change houses frequently because they wanted to have party or somesuch. Gerald had a collection of questionable tutors, but spent most of his time wandering about unsupervised.

Review - My Family and Other Animals

It took me a long time to read because it was rather dull. The family appears to have spent their time in self-indulgence and arguing and insulting each other.
