Notes:Joe works in Grand Central Station. One day in 1937 he meets Nora, a young woman dressed in old fashions. She died in a subway crash in the station in 1925—or she almost died. Turns out that she can come back to the station and live again as long as she doesn't leave the building. She and Joe stay in a hotel in the station, but as the years go by, he gets older and she never does. She feels like she's holding him back from his life, so she tells him she's leaving the station to die. He accepts it and moves away. She fakes her death and lives on in the station.

Review - Time after Time

Interesting premise, but the ending left me flat. Joe moves away—we don't know where or what he's doing. Nora lives on at the station, but how does she keep people there from noticing that she never gets older? At the end of the book, a young man comes to the station who is obviously supposed to be Joe's son, so he did have a life.
