Notes:Subtitle: American Resilience in the Era of Outrage

Crenshaw, now a Republican Congressman from Texas, was a Navy Seal for 10 years. He was injured in a land mine explosion and lost an eye. He takes the lessons he learned in the Navy and applies them to all of life—take responsibility for what happens to you, be prepared, think before reacting, etc.—and shows how they can counter today's culture of victimhood and outrage.

Review - Fortitude

I found the political stuff depressing, not because of Crenshaw's views, but because I find political stuff depressing. But the lessons he takes from the Seals and applies to life—that we have a choice who we want to be and how we react—are powerful. Crenshaw is a Christian (Catholic?), and he brings his faith into his world view. The book challenged me in several areas.
