Review - Trent's Own Case
Well written. I found I was oddly uninterested whenever I put the book down, but when I forced myself to read for any amount of time, I got into it.

Notes: | Wealthy philanthropist Randolph is found murdered in his house. Sometime detective Philip Trent has been framed for the murder, and Trent's best friend, Fairman, has confessed. But Trent knows he didn't do it and doesn't think Fairman did either. He noses about and figures out that Fairman was on the scene after the crime was committed and confessed to protect Trent himself. But the actual crime was committed by Varney, Randolph's secretary, who was embezzling funds for gambling and had a grudge against Trent for having recognized him in a gambling casino. |
