| Notes: | In Australia, after WWI, Paddy Carmody roams from place to place, working odd jobs but never settling down. His wife, Ida, and son, Sean, love him but long for a place of their own. In a season of sheep-shearing, the family finally saves enough to buy a farm, but Paddy gets drunk and loses the down-payment gambling. The family sets out again, disappointed but together. Sean grows through the experience and determines to live a different life. |
