Three guys travel across England in a slow-moving electric milk truck, called for some reason a float. Apart from holding up traffic and wondering where their next charge is coming from, nothing very exciting happens.

Review - Three Men in a Float

A take off on Jerome K. Jerome's book Three Men in a Boat, it really had nothing to do with the earlier book. Two of the guys took turns writing chapters, but their style was so similar it didn't really make any difference. The book was supposed to be funny, but wasn't. There were a lot of descriptions of the electrical hook-ups they used, which was boring. And there were a lot of rants against capitalism, government, and global warming, complete with lectures about how everyone needs to adopt a simpler life-style—like they did for all of three weeks. They tried to make the trip meaningful, but it was a gimmick that really went nowhere.
