| Notes: | During the Dust Bowl and the Depression, Jeanine's gambler father dies, leaving her, her two sisters, and her mother with nothing but a race horse. They move back to the family farm, long abandoned, and do whatever they can to survive. When youngest daughter, Bea, falls down a well and needs surgery, Jeanine sells the horse to rancher Ross for $200 and 10% of his winnings. Meanwhile, her mom invests in an oil well. After a couple years, much poverty, and a lot of struggles, the well produces, the race horse begins winning big pots, and Jeanine marries Ross. |
