Notes:In a post-apocalyptic world in which there are no countries and most of the landscape is covered by huge cities and a crippling bureaucracy dominates life, orphan Nadia decides to run away to the maybe-mythical Lighthouse Island. Chased by the authorities, constantly in danger, even arrested and imprisoned once, she makes her way through the chaos. Along the way she meets James, a scientist in a wheelchair, and they fall in love. James helps her escape by altering computer records and giving her passes to places she otherwise couldn't go. Finally, he joins her and they arrange a flight to the island. Massive storms flood the land and create an opportunity for a new reality. Nadia, James, and five other nomads join together and form an alliance determined to change the world for the better.

Review - Lighthouse Island

Kinda goofy and often hard to follow. The basic story was interesting enough to keep reading, but unsatisfying. I like Jiles' historical stuff better.
