| Notes: | Charlie Poole is happy with his unchallenging job as a bartender for his Uncle Al. He knows Al in part of the mob, and he knows the mob uses the bar to pass info, but Charlie remains blissfully uninterested. Then two hitmen show up and try to kill him. He escapes and goes to see Uncle Al, but Al won't talk to him. He hides and hears Al talking to the hit men, who say something about Al's boss, Argricola. After hiding out for a night with his friend Artie and his sometime-girlfriend Chloe, Charlie decides his only chance is to confront Agricola and convince him of his innocence. Artie and Chloe come along to help. When he gets to Agricola's, the discovers that the mobster has been killed. The hit men arrive, so Charlie takes Agricola's daughter as a hostage. She tries to escape, and Artie takes off after her and disappears. Charlie and Chloe head to the home of Agricola's boss, Gross. Gross doesn't believe him either, because a cop named Maloney told Gross the Charlie had been feeding mob info to the police. Again the hit men arrive, and Charlie is doomed, but Chloe shows up and rescues him. They escape, and Charlie goes to see Maloney. In the end, Charlie figures out that it was Al who was feeding info to the police and who killed Agricola. He is taken back to Gross's. The cops show up and arrest the mobsters and Al. Charlie realizes he's fallen in love with Chloe, so he determines to find a real job and marry her. |
