Notes:Moody hires on a wheat-harvesting crew in Kansas for a ornery man named Hudson. He and Hudson soon clash, but before Hudson can do anything about it, he is killed in a fall from a horse. In an agreement with Hudson's wife and a local banker, Moody and the crew take over the harvest. Moody turns this into a business hauling other farmers' wheat and then becomes a cattle trader in the off season.

Review - Dry Divide (7), The

Not terrible, but it was heavy slogging at times with lengthy descriptions of wheat harvesting, horse training, and wagon maintenance. Through it all, Moody comes out looking like a brilliant angel, so I'm also not sure how true-to-life it is.
