On his first day in office, a woman named Caroline gets off a stage and informs him that a man named Kramer plans on buying up the entire valley and killing anyone who refuses. A man named Lambert also shows up, claiming that he's going treasure hunting. Kramer finds Logan and informs him that he's planning on killing anyone who gets in his way. Logan wanders around while one rancher is killed and another, his own father, is wounded. Logan finally figures out that Lambert is Kramer's killer. He heads to town to try to stop the two men. Lambert is about to kill Logan in a shootout but he's distracted when Caroline shoots Kramer. This gives Logan a chance to kill Lambert.
