| Notes: | Armed Services Edition Priam Farll is an amazing painter whose works sell for tremendous sums. But Priam is shy. He lets his valet, Henry Leek, do everything that involved the public. When Henry suddenly dies, and Priam is mistaken for his valet, he lets the mistake stick. Henry (as Priam) is mourned and buried in Westminster Abbey. Priam meets Alice who had arranged a blind date with Leek and soon the two are married. Priam attempts to tell Alice who he really is, but she won't believe him—until he starts painting again and one of his works sells for $500 pounds. There's a scandal—if Priam is alive, then the wrong person is buried in the Abbey. If he's dead, then the seller of the painting is a fraud. Priam admits the truth and gets Alice to believe him. But then the two of them sail off into obscurity where Priam plans to do nothing but paint. |
