Review - The Best Short Stories

A weird book. Maupassant is genius at coming up with interesting premises for stories, but then, most of the time, he doesn't finish them strong. I kept thinking the set-up was great, but just when I was expecting a great ending—the story would just end, flat and uninspiring.
