The book chronicles the town, the valley, the seasons, the people, and his attempts to write. Three chapters cover a cattle drive he went on to Chicago.

Review - Snow Above Town

Parts of the book were an 8 or even 9—clever and well-written and funny—but too many chapters weren't about anything, and if, in the course of a single year, the author really lost all his family's money gambling, I don't think much of him.
