Notes:A story of Dix, a serial killer who strangled women around Los Angeles—told from the point of view of the killer. He had loved a girl in England during the war and killed her when she rejected him. He moved back to the states and began killing random women out of revenge. He also killed an old acquaintance so he could take over his apartment and bank accounts. He met up with his old friend Brub, now a police detective on the strangler case. Brub is married to Sylvia, who suspects Dix from the start. Dix also meets Laurel, a neighbor, whom he loves and whom he thinks will cure him of his drive to kill. But when Laurel also begins to suspect, Dix decides to kill her tool. He's only stopped when he falls into a trap set by Brub and Sylvia.

Review - In a Lonely Place

Supposed to be a revolutionary approach, set from the point of view of the killer. I supposed, but it made me feel a little sleazy while I read. And while it wasn't a long book, it took me a while because the parts where Dix was telling his thoughts were just dull.
