Notes:The town of Mesquite is a bad place—run by Pecos Kane, owner of the gambling hall. His cronies engage in rustling, muggings, bank robberies ... When Hopalong's friend Johnny is mugged, Hopalong and Red head to Mesquite and stir things up, then join a couple of local ranchers in a days-long shoot-out to clear out the bad guys. Hopalong, Red, and Johnny then trail the rustlers to their lair and get the best of them, of course.

Review - Hopalong Cassidy Sees Red

A whole lot going on between the very bad bad guys and the very good good guys, with crimes piling on crimes. All written in a florid style that attempts to mimic cowboy talk by, for example, spelling "women" and "wimmen," which would be pronounced exactly the same way.
