Ridiculously implausible, but enjoyable enough that I may try the second book in the series.

| Notes: | Subtitle: An Arab and Andy Blake Mystery Antique dealers Andy and Arab Blake buy a fake Chippendale chair. When it's stolen from their house, they begin to investigate — beginning with the collection of Chippendale furniture loaned to the local museum my Mr. Meredith. They find out that Meredith has decided to retrieve the collection and sell it. When they visit Meredith to ask why, they find out his daughter Edie (who happens to be a friend of Arab) is missing. It turns out that Nazis have kidnapped Edie and are forcing Meredith to sell the collection so they can use the money for sabotage in the U.S. Also in the mix is Platt, a crooked antique dealer, who is supposed to sell the collection. But he has his own scheme and plans on replacing the real Chippendale furniture with fakes — hence the chair Andy and Arab bought. With help from Duke, one of Platt's men who joins team Blake when he finds out Nazis are involved, and Duke's girlfriend Hazel, they grab the furniture and hide it. The Nazis capture everyone, but Andy and Arab manage to escape and get the Nazis and Platt's men fighting each other until the police arrive. |
