The author wrote about her life with her husband and young son in a cabin deep in the Maine woods. They worked with lumbermen and sportsmen, carrying equipment and guiding. They fished, they explored, they dealt with winter, storms, isolation, and getting supplies from "outside" when there was no road.

Review - We Took to the Woods

Supposedly a great classic, but I'm not sure what all the hubbubbary is about. There were a few amusing anecdotes and descriptions, but mostly it was about how they ate, how they dressed, how they warmed their food. Not thrilling stuff. And it never gave me a reason to really care about the characters.
