Notes:Part of a series of Western Mysteries. Friends "Hashknife" Hartley and "Sleepy" Stevens are heading west to the hot springs because Hashknife has rheumatism. They ask rancher Big Medicine Hawkworth if they can stay with him and bathe in his springs. Because they were nice to his wife and daughter in town, Hawkworth lets them stay. The two friends are soon in the middle of a ranch war and discover that some of the men in town are importing cocaine from Mexico. When Hashknife finds a shipment of drugs and hides it, the bad guys kidnap Hawkworth's wife and daughter. Soon every character in the book happens to end up at a home in Mexico where there's a big shootout and all the bad guys die and the good guys get away.

Review - Hidden Blood

Almost painful. I didn't rate it lower because it was written in 1925 for one of the adventure pulps and is what it is. Too many characters, too pat a resolution, too much explaining of things that should be made clear by good storytelling.
