Review - On Desperate Ground

Nice to read about a time when American men were actually men and the armed forces fought instead of taking sensitivity training. I can't imagine if our forces found themselves in this situation today. Of course, there are still men in America, but are there enough?

The book was well written and gave a good overview of events without bogging down in details. Sides concentrated on the stories of a handful of men, some of which were featured simply because their stories were interesting and available and not because they had anything much to do with the outcome of the battle.
