Well-written, often humorous, always interesting. The author is scrupulously politically correct at times, which gets annoying, but for a fan of baseball, it's one of the best books out there. He gives the necessary stats, and they tend to lose their meaning, as stats usually will, but still he handles them as well as any writer.
