Notes:A biography of Abraham Lincoln, written 25 years after his death by his Springfield law partner. Herndon's work was controversial due to his inclusion of events that have not been verified (such as Lincoln's love for Anne Rutledge) and his opinion that Lincoln was not a Christian. Herndon spends the most time on Lincoln's life in Springfield, the period when Herndon saw him on a near-daily basis.

Review - Life of Lincoln

An interesting, enjoyable read, but it did bog down in places where Herndon included personal letters to, from, and about Lincoln. It was also a little annoying not knowing for sure how much of it to believe.
