Notes:Halliburton was given carte blanche to go wherever he wanted, do whatever he wanted, and write about it for this book. Along the way, he interviewed a Russian soldier who helped murder the Tsar, the king of Saudi Arabia, and Haile Selassie (on the eve of the Italian invasion), among other things. He ended by renting an elephant from a Paris zoo and riding it over the Alps like Hannibal did.

Review - Seven League Boots

It's always hard to know how much of Halliburton to believe. Obviously, the "oldest man in the world" in Russia wasn't really 153, and the ease with which he was able to meet with famous people seems suspicious. But there are photos of him riding the elephant over the Alps. It's all fun, as long as you suspend disbelief.
