Concise history of the campaign and battle of March, 1862, in which the Union Army defeated a larger Confederate army in a two-day battle and secured Missouri and Northern Arkansas for the duration of the Civil War. The Confederates fought hard but were defeated by mismanagement and poor logistics which left their supply train stranded eight miles from the battlefield.

Review - Battle of Pea Ridge, The

Short, easy to follow, with adequate maps. On the one hand, it didn't get bogged down in the details of troop identification. On the other hand, it was lacking in human-interest stories and anecdotes.
