Notes:Howarth gives the history of a small force during WWII that used Norwegian fishing boats to ferry supplies, men, and refugees back and forth between Norway and the Shetland Islands. Made up of British officers and Norwegian sailors, the group operated for two years. They lost several boats and sailors, both through disasters at sea and capture by Germans. When it became clear that the Germans had caught on, they quit using fishing boats. They were then given three American submarine chasers and operated for the final two years of the war with no casualties.

A straightforward account of the creation and operation of the force with chapters on some of the more intense missions and escape stories. Well written and short enough to remain interesting.
