Biography of Bob Hope and his success in vaudeville, Broadway, radio, movies, TV, and personal appearances. He could sing, dance, act, and tell jokes and basically invented modern stand-up comedy, especially the monologue. He was married to Dolores for much of his life and career, but was also a serial philanderer. They adopted four children who didn't see much of their father because he was always on the road at benefits, concerts, or anywhere else where he could receive applause. He was perhaps most well known for his well-publicized tours of military bases during WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq, and his Christmas specials.

Review - Hope

Easy read that stayed interesting. I have less respect for Hope now that I know what a womanizer he was. Opinions differ on whether he was a private man who didn't reveal much of his inner self, or whether there just wasn't much to him other than comedic timing, some charm, and a thirst for applause.
