Notes:Audie Murphy was the most decorated American soldier in WWII. He fought in Sicily, Italy, southern France, and Germany and is credited with killing 240 Germans, all before he was 21. This is his account of the fighting, the boredom, the cold, heat, wet, but mostly about his friendship with other members of his platoon, all of which were killed or injured by the time the war was over.

Review - To Hell and Back

Well-written — Murphy did some of the writing but worked with a ghost writer for most of it, but sad. War is stupid. Sometimes necessary, but always stupid.

After war, Murphy was plagued by PTSD, and after reading this book, I can understand why.
