Review - Birds that Audubon Missed, The (Spotify)

As a long-time birder familiar with almost all the species covered by Kauffmann, I found much of this interesting. It was, however, often dry and redundant. Kauffmann's constant criticism of Audubon felt smug, as did his frequent retelling of his own prowess as a birder. And of course, he had to tell about his wokeness whenever opportunity arose. In addition, the reader of the audio version I listened to did nothing to improve the book. Whenever he pronounced a foreign name, he sounded like he filled his mouth with marbles, and when he read a quote, he switched to an accent that sounded like a prissy fob.
