Notes:First in a series of Sebastian Foxley mysteries.

Set in London in the 1400's. The cripple, Sebastian Foxley, is an artist who works with his brother Jude to create fine manuscripts. When their boss if found dead with Jude's knife in his chest, Jude is arrested and sentenced to death. Sebastian, with help from his apprentice Jack, his friend Emily (whom he loves), and Sir Robert Percy (friend of the king's brother), he investigates. In the end, it's man's wife who killed him and framed Jude, and Sebastian uncovers the plot and saves his brother. A subplot involves a pharmacist attempting to create gold with the philosopher's stone. As part of this story line, Sebastian is captured and strung up by his arms, which resets his bones and makes him much less cripple.

Review - Colour of Poison, The

Rather dragged in places. Sebastian wasn't so much of a sleuth as just the character around which the events occurred. The way the author kept switching from the first to the third person and back was annoying.
