Notes:A woman from Seattle, tired of being poor, maxes out a bunch of credit cards and flees to Canada where she boards the cross-country trail to Montreal. She imagines herself a heroine in a 1940's movie. She meets a man on the train and they have a fling. But is he the hero or a detective out to track her down. When they get to Montreal, she runs off and he decides to let her go. Then there's a final chapter that seems to be saying that he's really a book smuggler and she's on the train to keep tabs on him.

I'm guessing it was an experiment. Based on reviews, some people liked it. I didn't particularly.
