Review - Rhubarb
Clever in a few scattered spots, but mostly just silly.

| Notes: | Rhubarb the cat is known for maiming dogs and creating mayhem. Millionaire T.W. Banner decides to adopt him and, when he dies, leaves Rhubarb his entire estate, including the awful New York Loons baseball team. Banner's assistant, Eric Yeager, is appointed guardian. Soon Rhubarb becomes a celebrity, making public appearances and being invited on radio programs. Eric has to deal with the press, the Loon players who don't want to play for a cat, and the demands of his girlfriend, Polly. The Loons decide that Rhubarb is a good-luck charm and begin winning. Myra, Banner's daughter, sues to get the inheritance, and the case goes to trial. But when Doom, the ex-bookie who Eric hired to be Rhubarb's bodyguard/detective, discovers that Myra isn't really Banner's daughter, the case is tossed out. The Loons win the World Series. Polly thinks she'll finally get some of Eric's time, but the demands for Rhubarb's appearances keep on coming. |
