| Notes: | Continues the story. Emma becomes better acquainted with her neighbor, Mr. Pierce, and rents him a room in her house for a photography studio. Mary's friend, Jack does her a favor, which puts her in his debt — and he is as shady as he appears to be. Emma finds a journal and reads it before returning it to the Duke of Islington, with whom she becomes friends. She begins escorting Arabella at the direction of her Aunt Eugenia. And she has gained some influence over her Uncle Archibald. |
