Notes:Islington invites the group to his estate for a month. Emma learns more about the pasts of each of them — especially Pierce when they run into his sister who takes him home to see his mom. His step-father, who abused him and literally tried to kill him is an invalid, but Pierce was so angry that Emma had to drag him away. More stuff with Aunt Eugenia trying to get Anabelle married off to a rich man and demanding that Emma help.

More serious than past books. Still keeps my interest. However, I've realized that, if the author doesn't start writing faster, the series won't be finished until I'm well into my 80's.
