Reviews for The Magnificent Seven

Review - Magnificent Seven, The

I recently saw this for the first time in a long time and thought it was fantastic. I'm not sure why, and I don't really care. It was just a great movie.

My favorite line — Vin is complaining to Harry about how dull the village is. Harry replies, “It’s not that bad. I fell in with a fast crowd yesterday that hangs around near the fountain. We got to predicting the weather for today and didn’t break up until twilight.”

Here's some interesting stuff from IMDB:

Steve McQueen wanted to be in the movie, but he couldn’t get out of his TV contract. He crashed his car on purpose and faked an injury, then filmed The Magnificent Seven while he was on sick leave.

The Mexican censors were worried about the stereotyping of the Mexican villagers. They insisted that the Mexicans appear in clean clothing at all times, no matter the situation.
