This movie isn't aging well. When I first saw it, I thought it was very good, but when I watched it again recently, quite a bit of silliness seemed to have crept in. And somehow, the time period doesn't ring true — the characters seem to be modern people wearing old clothes. Gwyneth Paltrow does a fairly good job as Emma, but Toni Collette is simply annoying as Harriet and the rest of the cast isn't much better.
