Description:Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) is a Blade Runner, a hunter of synthetic humans called replicants. The replicants were built to provide labor off-planet, but four have escaped to earth. Deckard doesn't like his job, but he has no choice. As he's hunting them down, he meets Rachael (Sean Young), a later-model experimental replicant. Deckard falls in love with her. He's told he has to kill her too, but after she saves his life, he can't. He manages to track down the other four. The final one, Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer) beats Deckard to a pulp but then saves his life just before shutting down. Deckard and Racheal disappear together.

Review - Blade Runner

The scenes of dystopian Los Angeles are pretty amazing. I have a little trouble with one aspect of the movie—Deckard is almost killed by one replicant before Racheal saves him. He would have been killed by another but that one actually saved Deckard's life before shutting down. Even the two Deckard managed to kill beat him up. Why is Deckard a good Blade Runner? And what does "Blade Runner" mean?

The character of Rachael, and the turmoil Deckard faces from falling in love with basically a machine, is interesting.
