Why I saw it: Looked good in the previews.

Brief Synopsis: Michael Newman is a young architect struggling to get ahead in his firm. His wife Donna and his two kids, Ben and Sam are patient but frustrated that Michael doesn’t spend more time with them. When his life spirals out of control, Michael goes to a Bed, Bath and Beyond store to buy a universal remote and meets Morty, a mysterious guy who gives him a truly universal remote. Michael soon figures out he can fast forward through the unpleasant parts of life. He over-uses it and soon misses out on his kids growing up. Donna leaves him and gets remarried. Michael has the promotion he wants but is fat, alone and unhappy. He dies trying to convince his son not to live the same life.

Then Morty shows up and reveals that he’s an angel. He gives Michael another shot at life — from the time he went to buy the remote. This time, Michael pays attention to his family and throws the remote away.

What I liked about it: Kate Beckinsale.

What I didn’t like about it: Everything else. It was silly, with huge plot holes, and it took forever to get to the point.
