Description:Chicago cop Danny Muldoon (John Candy) falls for Theresa Luna (Ally Sheedy) the daughter of the local funeral director. But standing in his way is his mother Rose (Maureen O'Hara), a woman who dispenses guilt liberally. Rose undermines Danny's wedding and makes plans to move the two of them to Florida, but Danny finally learns to stand up to Mommy for the sake of Theresa. Anthony Quinn plays Nick Acropolis, Rose's next-door neighbor who has a crush on her, and James Belushi plays Danny's partner, Salvatore Buonarte.

Review - Only the Lonely

It's tough to imagine a movie with John Candy, Maureen O'Hara, Anthony Quinn and James Belushi being dull, but this one manages. It's not that it's bad so much, just that nothing actually happens and the ending is obvious from the very beginning.
