Review - Die Hard: With a Vengeance
Mercenary Simon Gruber is the brother of the man police officer John McClane killed in the first Die Hard movie. Simon’s out for revenge, or so it seems. He explodes a bomb in downtown Manhattan, then called the police and demands that McClane perform a series of tasks or he will set off more bombs. The first task sends him to Harlem where he’s attacked by a gang but saved by Zeus Carver, a Black businessman. Gruber then sends them across town to a subway station where he blows up a train near the Federal Reserve Bank. McClane manages to save the people on the train. Then Gruber says he has a bomb in a city school. The cops all rush off to find the bomb, but McClane figures out what’s going on. Just too late. When he gets to the bank, all the gold is gone. Gruber took it off in dump trucks. McClane and Carver follow and see Gruber getting on a ship. The jump onto it off a bridge, but get caught. Gruber tells them he’s working for a Mideast terrorist who wants the world’s gold on the bottom of Long Island Sound. Gruber leaves the ship with his men. McClane manages to get loose and the he and Carver jump ship just as the bomb goes off. But McClane figures out Gruber is double-crossing the terrorist and has kept the gold. He tracks him down to a truckstop and kills him.
Totally unbelievable, of course. Fun, but with quite a bit of violence and a lot of swearing.
