Review - Dumb & Dumber
Lloyd drives a limo. He picks up Mary and immediately falls in love. He drives her to the airport and notices that she leaves a suitcase in the terminal. He grabs it and determines to follow her to Aspen. What he doesn’t realize is that Mary left the suitcase to pay off the kidnappers of her husband. Lloyd takes off for Aspen with his friend Harry in Harry’s van decorated to look like a dog for Harry’s pet grooming service. They are pursued by the kidnappers, one of whom eventually hitches a ride with them. He dies when they give him what they think are ulcer pills — but which are rat poison he intended for them. They trade the van for a mini scooter and eventually make it to Aspen. They discover that Mary’s suitcase is full of money and spend it all, replacing it with I.O.U.s. Harry makes contact with Mary to plead Lloyd’s case but falls for her himself. They spend a day together while Lloyd waits for Mary in a bar. It all comes to a climax in the boys’ apartment when the kidnapper gets a drop on them but federal agents break in, arrest the bad guys and free Mary’s husband. I didn’t think it was funny or cute or worthwhile.
