| Description: | Ben Homes (Ben Affleck) is trying to get to Atlanta from Georgia for his wedding to Bridget (Maura Tierney) , but he's having a hard time. His plane slides off the runway and crashes. He escapes while carrying a fellow passenger named Sarah (Sandra Bullock) to safety. Their fates become linked. She is also trying to get to Georgia. The try various ways to get there — hitching a ride with a stranger, traveling with a group of old people on a bus, catching a train. But every time something goes wrong and they end up stranded together. They fall for each other, even after Sarah tells Ben about her two marriages and her son. The finally arrive in Atlanta just in time for the wedding, which is scheduled just as a hurricane hits. Ben intends to tell Bridget he can't go through with it, but when he sees her, he realizes he does love her and couldn't possibly leave her. They go off to Hawaii and get married. Sarah looks up the son she left and reconciles with him. |
