Description:Princess Veronica travels to America and stays in a ritzy hotel. She goes outside to explore and runs into Jimmy Dobson, a bellboy at the hotel. She asks Jimmy to be her personal attendant, and he soon falls in love with her. She, meanwhile, is looking to reconnect with Paul MacMillan, a columnist who traveled to her country. They were in love but didn’t marry because he was a commoner. They meet again, but realize they still can’t marry. Meanwhile, Leslie, an invalid girl who lives upstairs from Jimmy is in love with him.

Veronica asks Jimmy to take her to a bar where Paul frequently hangs out. Jimmy thinks she’s in love with him, and when she asks him to go back to her country to be a servant, he thinks she wants to marry him. Jimmy’s friend Albert shows up at the bar with some seedy friends, and Jimmy tries to get him away from them. A fight breaks out, the cops come, and Veronica is arrested. Paul arrives in time to see her hauled away and gets her out of jail before a scandal hits. Jimmy realizes he loves Leslie after all, so he tells Veronica he can’t marry her. Veronica is surprised that he thought he could, but then realizes that Jimmy thought he was giving up a throne for love. She does the same and abdicates in favor of Paul.

Review - Her Highness and the Bellboy

Walker and Allyson were good as Jimmy and Leslie. The plot was cute, and there were some chuckles. Again I couldn’t help noticing that Hedy didn’t really do much acting, but it was an entertaining hour an a half.
